{"id":485,"date":"2017-03-11T10:48:04","date_gmt":"2017-03-11T10:48:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/?p=485"},"modified":"2017-03-11T10:51:07","modified_gmt":"2017-03-11T10:51:07","slug":"day-5-low-sugar-diet-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/03\/11\/day-5-low-sugar-diet-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 5 Low Sugar Diet Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is now day five\u00a0of the low sugar diet, and even now we are starting to see results, well at least I am!<\/p>\n<p>Although this has only been five\u00a0days, I have already lost 4 kg, That equates to 8.8lb or 0.6 stone.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_480\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-480\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-480\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8480.jpg?resize=300%2C300\" alt=\"Get in there\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" data-wp-pid=\"480\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">What a difference a week makes!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I can\u2019t say it has been easy, as some days it has been particularly hard. I think the first day was the worst, not helped by me cycling 35 miles on low carbs and low sugar resulting in zero energy.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve also had headaches in the week, Probably caused due to the lack of sugar one of the \u00a0withdrawal symptoms, however as the week has progressed these appear to have got better.<\/p>\n<p>This new diet would not be success success without the hard work of my jelly(Claire), She has been cooking almost every day making something good for us to eat which if we had bought from the supermarket could\u2019ve been bad.<\/p>\n<p>Breakfast this week has consisted of two egg muffins, made up of eggs, butternut squash, bacon and herbs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_482\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-482\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-482\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8476-e1489226095788-225x300.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-wp-pid=\"482\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-482\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Breakfast every day &#8211; an Egg Muffin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lunch has consisted of my usual salad which includes chicken, avocado, salad leaves, olives, beetroot, cucumber and cherry tomatoes.\u00a0 On the days that I have had college, This has been followed by a fruit salad made up of chopped mango, Raspberries and full fat cream.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_481\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-481\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-481\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8477-e1489226430925-225x300.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"Chilli\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" data-wp-pid=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8477-e1489226430925.jpg?resize=225%2C300&amp;ssl=1 225w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8477-e1489226430925.jpg?resize=768%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8477-e1489226430925.jpg?resize=800%2C1067&amp;ssl=1 800w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/grahampowell.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_8477-e1489226430925.jpg?w=1500&amp;ssl=1 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-481\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dinner- Chilli Con Carne<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This week, we\u2019ve had two meals that have been eaten over a number of days.
