Off Road Biking

Orbea Laufey

Here is the new beast in my life – the Orbea Laufey

During this year with a lot of our lives being disrupted due to covid19, exercise became much more important. In the early part of the year I was going for lots of walks, but what I had missed since my work took me to Heatherwood was getting out on my bike to exercise.

It is only recently that I have started to meet up with the boys at the weekend to go for a ride. The first ride being Swinley Forest nr Bracknell for some serious off-roading. It was on this ride that I convinced myself that I needed a proper off road bike. My Hybrid is great for the trails and tarmac but not totally suited to the off-road demands, so I invested in the Orbea Laufey

I wasn’t looking to purchase an Orbea Laufey, as when I decided I was going to get another bike I had my eyes set on an Merida bike and then another Trek bike, but in both instances by the time I received my cycle scheme certificate the bikes were out of stock. (If you’ve been trying to get a bike during the pandemic you’ll understand my frustration) It was only by chance that we popped into a bike shop in Petersfield and the guy said they had an XL bike in stock at their Farnham branch (Hoops Velo). So after my ride with Dave through Alice Holt I made a visit to the store and walked out with a bike too. The colour wasn’t what I was going for to begin with, but it has grown on me, and now I love it.

Below you will see a selection of photos from our rides and videos of our rides.
